I remember my Grandpop being excited his favorite movie, The Thief of Baghdad (1924) was on TV. It was his Star Wars!

I was, of course, diffident in that special way tweens have.

My dad loved Star Wars because it was like the Saturday morning serials he watched as a kid in San Francisco.

Because I was born and brought up in the south, I sometimes feel diffident about my Hindi accent. Then I hear some 2nd or 3rd generation diaspora actor mangle the language in a Canadian or American production
