I'm struck by how the Saga of the Earls of Orkney introduces Páll Hákonarson (ch. 53): 'he had little to say and was popular'. A man after my own heart. Sadly, Sveinn Ásleifarson kidnaps him and so makes the much more garrulous Rǫgnvaldr Kali Kolsson sole Earl of Orkney (at least briefly).

In Manchester I was first to the hotel breakfast buffet to make an early train to Euston. The young waiter was garrulous & cheerful for the time of morning. As I was leaving he said: “Just wanted to let you know you’re a much better customer than the London Mayor” Leaving that thought with you all

Last night ... The Football Bill was paused for a dinner break debate which went on for so long that, altho we all waited around, the Bill didn't restart.
So my amendments on including #ClimateChange in Regulator's duties will now be next Monday.
I'd say several peers were unnecessarily garrulous.☹️
