I've never been an optimist, but I've also never been a misanthrope. That said, the constant dipshittery since social media, etc., started supplanting in-person socialization, coupled with the rot of crypto-currency, NFTs, and AI-slop all have me thinking that maybe the species deserves to fail.

Kind of wild Patricia Highsmith hung out w/ budding bohemian artists (eg~ Buffie Johnson, Truman Capote, Chester Himes...) yet was this total misanthrope (which I sort of get growing up in a similar atmosphere). So reading The Talented Mr Ripley and curious abt ASPD afflicted protagonists......🙃

Wolf is a social butterfly. But Alligator is a misanthrope. It’s like they both got half of me. I love my friends… but I hate people… wolf loves my friends. Alligator hates people.
