every argument I see for using "AI" in software development is of the form "it lets us make software way faster," and I'm begrudgingly willing to stipulate for the sake of argument that maybe that's true in software in a way it isn't in other arenas, since e.g. "truth" and "reality" aren't concerns.

Urgent legislation required to stipulate energy, cap emissions and prohibit data centres from taking water from water courses or resources. Either these data centres present carbon neutral and closed water usage systems or there is a moratorium until they do.
