A #HistoryOfMath moment, for no particular reason... My usually taciturn PhD advisor once related an anecdote about his experience as a Chern student (so, 1970s) - he said Chern was of the opinion that there were infinitely many complex structures on \\(S^6\\) - but that they were just hard to find.
